2002-present:
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ASSOCIATION FOR LABORATORY AUTOMATION (ALA)

The only international association devoted exclusively to laboratory automation in its service to academia, commercial and government research, scientists, engineers and business professionals.

  • Demonstrated strategic vision and innovation by successfully building a leading-edge association model, a virtual organization that not only runs efficiently, but also has received national press and numerous awards and accolades
  • Created a governance infrastructure (bylaws, policies, employee manuals, et al) to allow for professional management
  • Led the ALA Board in its first-ever strategic plan, as well as successive versions
  • With Board support, turned an event-centered organization into a member-centered organization with a plethora of both education and member services
  • Built an achievement oriented team of professional staff and independent contractors
  • Helped grow the ALA brand substantially so that the organization is now seen, through its strategic alliances, as a leader in its market space
